Along with a handful of my colleagues, I had the great privilege of being present at the Grand Opening of Disneyland Shanghai. 15 years in the making and a $5.5 billion investment, the park oft referred to during the opening ceremonies as “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese” boasts the largest Storybook Castle in the world.
Tron, an intense, fast, and (admittedly) scary roller coaster set to the music of Daft Punk was a thrill I was sure I wanted nothing to do with. Finally agreeing to accompany my friends, it was so much fun I went on it twice in a row!

Soaring Over the Horizon was a spectacular way to explore the world from an aerial view seeing places I dream of going one day. And Pirates of the Caribbean had me oooooh!-ing and ahhhh!-ing like a small child. It was a super fun ride! (Neither ride is conducive to photographs.)
I even got to go on the Star Wars Launch Bay and met both friend and foe.
On June 15 and 16, despite being nearly 40 and wearing a suit, Disney made me a kid again.
It looks like you had a wonderful time You are looking great! So happy for you.

My roller coaster days are behind me, I think. Can’t hack it anymore. Looks like you had a blast. And you’ll have great stories to tell.

Hee hee hee! You know, it’s easy (and fun) to mock Disney, but gotta say, you make it look utterly delightful!

Hi kelly,So fun to hear about your travels. Gary and i are back in CA having a visit with grandma. Uncle Ray is continually cooking for us, which I don’t mind at all. Weather here is warm. Leaving in another day or two and driving home. Should take us 2-3 days. Love, aunttie lou
